Course content
The laboratory safety, chemicals-storage, purity, basic chemical calculations, common buffers preparation instructions. Weighting and Scales: mechanical scales, digital scales, solid and liquid chemicals weighting. Volume and admeasurements determination: laboratory glass volume measurement, pipeting and various digital pipetes. Common laboratory equipment: thermostats, water baths, shakers etc. Potentiometry: equipment calibration, buffers, pH-measurement. Chromatography: basic principles, TLC. Excursion in the laboratory of Molecular and Cell biology.

  • Homework for Teaching - 2 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Course Credit - 6 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The laboratory safety, chemicals, solutions, basic chemical calculations, common buffers preparation instructions.
Student should be able to (after attending the course): - work safely in the laboratory - prepare basic solutions and measure their physical characteristics - perform basic Spectrophotometry and Chromatography techniques
