Course content

Theory and application of basic principles in hematology. Hierarchy of hematopoiesis. Blood elements ? cytomorphology, function. Red blood cells. White blood cells and platelets. Blood clotting, coagulation. Diagnostic methods in laboratory hematology, hematological flow cytometry. Basic introduction to clinical hematology, blood disorders. Clinical interpretation of hematological examinations. Immunohematology. Transfusion medicine. Cytogenetic and molecular cytogenetic analyses of hematological disorders.
