Course content
|
1) The course introduction. Laboratory safety and rules. 2) Isolation of Plant genomic DNA. Measuring of the DNA concentration and purity, its electrophoretic separation on agarose gel. 3) Isolation of imunoglobulin fraction IgG of rabbit blood serum. Electrophoretic separation of proteins on polyacrylamide gel (PAGE), detection of their molecular weights. 4) Plasmid transformation of competent bacteries, gene transfer of resistence to antibiotics. 5) Transgenosis of plants: principles and method. Transgenic plants.

Learning outcomes
|
Basic metods of molecular biology, DNA and proteins izolation and their analysis. Bacterial transformations and transgenosis.
Student should be able to (after attending the course): - Apply the laboratory skills in molecular biology research. - Perform the basic molecular techniques. - Write properly research reports aimed at solving the given problems and discuss the results
