Lasers in medicine, microsurgery. Scanning methods for body temperature measurement. Radiation risks and safety. Stochastic and deterministic effects. X-ray diagnostic methods I. Skiagraphy, skiascopy, angiography (AG), digital subtraction angiography (DSA). X-ray diagnostic methods II. Computer tomography (CT), CT angiography (CTA). Radionuclide imaging, positron emission tomography (PET). Pulse wave. Clinical applications of ultrasonics. Photodynamic therapy (PDT). Principal of PDT, types of photodynamic active drugs, sources of radiation. Biological response, methods of cell damage analysing, clinical applications. Nuclear magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Biophysical principles of non-invasive and invasive therapeutic methods. Hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, continual methods, hemoperfusion, plasmapheresis. Electrodiagnostic methods. Presentation of seminar papers.

Výstupy z učení

Presentation of the fundamentals of modern quantitative methods for evaluation of functional and pathological conditions of the organism. Explanation of principles of clinical decision-making process. Physical and technological bases of current diagnostic and therapeutic systems. Presentation of fundamentals of medical information and use of computer technology.
Students will be able to understand the basic physical principles of commonly used diagnostic and therapeutic methods including the data analysis and image processing. They will be able to make right decision and chose adequate instrumental technique to diagnose or treat different kinds of diseases.
