Two streams of Czech literature of the second half of the 20th century - official and unofficial (underground and in exile), trends in prose, poetry and drama, genres and distinct authors. Characteristic works of the respective period.

|
This course describes Czech literature originating in the 2nd half of the 20th century. Topics include: stylistic and thematic changes in prose and poetry, official and underground literature, literature in exile, dogmatisms of the socialist ideology.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Seminar Work
At least 75% attendance rate at seminars. Seminar thesis. Credit test verifying theoretical knowledge of Czech literature during the period from 1948 to 1969.
