Course content
Indo-European linguistics, Balto-Slavic unity, Proto-Slavic - basic characteristics. Slavic languages - classification, characteristics of individual languages. Slovak - similarities and differences compared to Czech. Relationship between Czech and Slovak during historic development. Old Church Slavonic - theory of origins, history. Old Church Slavonic monuments. Old Church Slavonic lettering, vocal system of Old Church Slavonic, consonant system of Old Church Slavonic, morphology system of Old Church Slavonic, Old Church Slavonic syntax, lexicon, Slavonic Studies - its place in linguistics, authors, publications, textbooks.
