Introduction to Language Study 1 provides a comprehensive overview of fundamental issues related to the study of one's native language and consists of three interconnected parts: (1) it summarizes and systematizes knowledge focused on the Czech language at the secondary school level, (2) expands existing knowledge of specific issues related to language in a broader systemic context, focusing primarily on its spelling, and (3) supports skills that lead to the conscious use of linguistic knowledge in practice in teaching.
After completing the course students should be able to: Understand the basic parameters of native language studies including elementary theoretical foundations (and terminology). Understand the system of Czech voice and to know their basic description and / or classification. To think meaningfully and intimately on specific language issues in a broader historical and systemic context. Use skills and acquired competencies that lead to the conscious use of linguistic knowledge in further study of the given field and in practice in teaching. |

Oral exam, Written exam
Test The test will be realized in the written form, which will be focused on individual topics covered and discussed in lectures and especially in seminars. Some questions will test students' understanding of the subject matter and verify their understanding of selected concepts. The test will also work for students with acquired skills, especially when it comes to working with specific language material. Oral Exam The exam will take place orally and will be based on the thematic areas published in MS Teams at the beginning of the winter semester 2024/2025. The student always chooses one topic at random, about which he should be able to speak independently for approx. 10 minutes. For individual findings, the student should be able to give specific examples working with language material, or the student may be asked to demonstrate knowledge on specific language material presented to him by the examiner. |
