The aim of the course is to provide a brief but comprehensive overview of the main themes of phonetics and phonology with a focus on articulation, acoustic and auditory phonetics. An important goal is to teach the students to perform phonetic and phonological transcriptions with the inclusion of basic phonological phenomena (assimilation of sound, assimilation of articulation, nasalization, hiatus changes, monoftongization and diftongization, palatalization, etc.). Another aim is to teach students to perform segmental and suprasegmental phonetic and phonological analysis of text / testimonies. The subject also provides a comprehensive explanation of the Czech Voice System (in accordance with the declared phonetic typology).
