Course content
Course description and content: Didactics of Czech language teaching (as a mother tongue), aims and objectives. Language teaching in historical context. Czech language and literature in RVP ZV (Framework educational programme for basic education); structure. Methods, forms and practice. Induction - a method of language education. Orthography practice, its phases, psychology, algorythms, practice. Communicative approach to language teaching. Critical thinking, its phases and methods. Types and structure of the lessons. Textbooks: basic aid; choice criteria and evaluation. Evaluation and classification; progress and final evaluation. Aids and tools, methodology resources (the Internet links, printed media).

Course objectives: To characterize subject and objectives of Czech language didactics, know and use resources, To clarify histrical approaches to language teaching, To assess and evaluate communicative approach to language teaching, To know "RVP ZV" (Framework educational programme for basic education) with focus to educational field "Jazyk a jazyková komunikace" (Language and Communication), To characterize the subject Czech language and literature, To prove knowledge and ability to apply the methods and forms of teaching and practice in language teaching, To define the term critical thinking, its phases and be able to use methods of critical thinking and language teaching, To assess and evaluate the textbooks for the subject of Czech language teaching, To know the content and objectives of Czech language teaching at 5-9th grade, To use supportive and innovative didactic tools, To create thematic and lesson plans.
