Course content
Didactics of the Czech language, its characteristics and objectives. Language teaching in a historical context. Educational area Czech Language and Literature, its position in RVP ZV, structure. Methods, forms and exercises used in language lessons. The importance of an inductive method in language teaching. Literary training and its phases, psychological considerations, algorithms, exercises. Communication concept of language teaching. Critical thinking, its phases and methods. Types and structure of language teaching lessons. Problems of the integration of the components of the Czech language and literature, educational fields and cross-curricular themes. Textbooks of Czech as a basic teaching aid, criteria for their selection and evaluation. Assessment and classification in language teaching, partial and final assessment. Aids and methodological Support in teaching the Czech Language (internet links, publications, magazines).

Learning outcomes
After completing the course students should be able: - to characterize the subject and the aim of the field of didactics of the Czech language, acquainted with and use the basic literature of the field, - to clarify the concept of language teaching in the historical context, - to assess and evaluate the communication concept of language teaching, - to orientate in the construction of the RVPZV with an emphasis on the educational area Language and language communication, - to characterize the educational branch of Czech language and literature and its components, - to demonstrate knowledge of methods, forms of work and exercises used in language teaching (especially in language education) and apply them to selected subjects, - to clarify the concept of critical thinking, its phases, and the use of critical thinking methods in language teaching. - to focus on offering Czech textbooks for elementary schools and to know and apply some of the criteria of their assessment, - to clarify the issues of evaluation and classification in the subject during the final assessment and to be able to use their skills in the partial evaluation and classification in language education, - to know the content and layout of the curriculum in language education at elementary school, - to use support didactic means in teaching the Czech language and its innovation, - Plan and implement language lessons from thematic plans to specific lessons, - to be able to integrate the components of the Czech language and literature with selected educational fields and cross-cutting themes of the RVP ZV.
