Course content
Learning outcomes of the course unit The course focuses on the developmental tendencies of contemporary Czech language with the aim of acquainting students with the current issues and problems of interest in contemporary linguistics and language education. The individual themes are based on the current form of native language and their content gradually follows the curriculum of language education at elementary schools according to the Framework Educational Plan for Primary Education in a way that enables students to get acquainted with language issues on the basis of contemporary complex approaches to spoken and written communications. Emphasis will be placed on the practical work with the texts of various communication events: monological and dialogical, including dialogues of asymmetric (institutional) and symmetrical (conversational), or the relation of the written and spoken communications in the perspective of the current profiling of the movement between psanosti and spokenness (electronic communication, social networks, etc.). Topics: 1. Language and codification (linguistic situation in Czech, stratification of Czech, delimitation of the term literary language, norma, zusus, codification, present codification and its problems). 2. Evolutionary tendencies in the contemporary Czech language (intellectualization and democratization of the language, current issues of language culture: correctness vs. adequacy). 3. Development tendencies of the phonetic and morphological language plan. 4. Word-making processes in contemporary Czech (fashion tendencies and influence of foreign languages on Czech, compositional word-formation and calculations). 5. Developmental tendencies of the syntactic language plan (functional differentiation of syntactic means, termination modifications, communication functions). 5. Enrichment of vocabulary (univerbial / multiverbizational processes, neo-sentiment, neologisms, foreign languages, etc.). 6. Analysis of lexical material of selected texts from different functional areas (preparation of exercises, criteria for preparation of suitable examples). 7. Spoken communicates and the possibilities of their analysis (dialogue, symmetry, speaking / writing). 8. Analysis of communication process and text (communication strategy and effect, semantic text structure, procedures and examples). 9. Conversion analysis and its use in teaching mother tongue.
