Course content
1st cultural journalism - the definition of a field of interest, journalism and culture, narrower and broader concepts of culture, the two meanings of the word "culture" of cultural specifics of journalism, "reflexive" and "fiction" texts 2nd periodicals devoted to the field (special periodicals, on-line portals and RTV programs generally cultural, literary, film, theater, music ad., the general rubric of daily newspapers, weekly and monthly), the differences, the structure of themes and genres 3rd main information sources, institutions and organizations (press releases, how to get peer review copy, etc.) 4th specific processing of information obtained from the field (vs. analysis. imprese, from press releases / press-kit through the annotation for review, or. criticism, etc.) 5th - 13 creation, discussion and analysis of their communication

Learning outcomes
General knowledge acquired by students during the present study (News, Current Affairs, Foundations of general aesthetics and art history), the course will be supplemented and expanded to include specific information and skills that enable graduates to perform the work professionally oriented journalists. The opening hours will be familiar with the field spread, basic information sources and structure of periodicals or their parts (columns) that Star is dedicated to culture, as well as the specifics of journalistic work in the area. Subject of interest are ways of obtaining information in the cultural sphere, working with the resources, ethical aspects of work, respect for the audience. Monitoring, the specifics of individual areas (music, theater, film, art, etc.) used to interest students of different areas. In other lessons the course will then have virtually "cover" the area of culture, actively search for and process current and interesting topics and create a cultural section at department's e-zine.
Students will acquire practical and professional competences and routines that anable them to work independently in given area and the students will be prepared for the practical part of the final examination.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Requirements for credit Regular monitoring will be required to print national periodicals focused on the economy and economic supplements or parts of at least one national newspaper. Monitoring will also be an economically-oriented programs in electronic media. From the above media will be taken in addition to its own production examples for analysis. Six contributions to selected topics. Contributions will be published on katederním e-zine, a semester long project (may be in the group 2-3 students) - eg analysis of a periodical / sections, etc. (by prior appointment with the teacher). Colloquium: debate by defense communication are developed and verify the theoretical knowledge acquired under the thematic headings course.
