Course content
1. Introductory lesson - university/faculty/department introduces itself to students, students introduce themselves to the university/faculty/department 2. Basic terms and concepts of study at the university 3. Information resources for the organisation of studies (university website, intranet, applications, e-mail). 4. Study at KMKSŽ (I) 5. Study at KMKSŽ (II) 6. Immatriculation, graduation; scholarships, foreign stays 7. EIS and databases, "media" resources 8. Plagiarism and writing scholarly text, citation and referencing; AI issues 9. University administration and representation 10. University standards and disciplinary regulations 11. Student initiatives, student services, social security 12. Evaluation system and its importance 13. Evaluation of seminar papers and end of course

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to help students to navigate in selected aspects of the study, both in general parameters and specifics of the study of the social science program at the Faculty of Arts UP and the academic environment (at the Faculty of Arts UP) as such. Thus: to help with the transition from the secondary to the tertiary education environment, to strengthen the awareness of its requisites and basic problems, and thus increase the efficiency and success in "acclimatization" and passage through the study.

Seminar Work

1. regular attendance and active participation in lessons 2. seminar paper (minimum 5 and maximum 10 standard pages; using at least 5 professional sources, 3 of which are foreign) and discussion with the lecturer(s) 3. evaluation of the course and suggestions for improvement
