Course content
|
The cycle of lectures introduce selected chapters from the history of antique, questions of its reception and interpretation in the contemporary cultural context. It points out the most significant masterpieces of antique architecture, sculpture, painting and handicraft production providing a comparison with the art development especially in the period of Renaissance and Classicism. Lectures also pay attention to antique traditions within the European art development from the chronological as well as culture-historical point of view.

Learning outcomes
|
One-semester cycle of lectures introduce selected chapters from the history of antique, questions of its reception and interpretation. It points out the most significant masterpieces of antique architecture, sculpture, painting and handicraft production. Attention is also paid to antique traditions in the European art development.
