Course content
First Contexts textile design and free art second half of the 20th century. Second The symbolic role of textiles. 3rd Current trends in the textile arts. 4th Practical work. The focus is on the story, personal experience, the substantive content of the work carried out by the selected textile technique (wax batik, tapestry, embroidery, etc.). The work is based on experience and craft skills of textile art 1 and 2 and leads students to acquisition of other textile techniques and finding new ways of expression možností.Smyslem their job is to find the context of free art specifically textile products.

Learning outcomes
The course objective consists in leading students to understanding the symbolic role of textile in Man's life and his environment in the historical as well as contemporary context, and specific expression plastic and symbolic properties of the material; deepening their sensual reception toward textile when enriching their work with other traditional textile techniques and experimental attempts. The practical part of this discipline is based upon textile art actual tendencies and free creation.
Students should be eligible to practice mastery of craft in selected traditional textile techniques and creative approach to the textile material. Should be able to perception of specific expressive possibilities of textile material, its sensory qualities and a new approach to textiles as a basis for expressing content. He should be able to see the context of contemporary textile art and fine arts areas.
Prerequisites
Prerequisite for the experience and craft skills acquired in textile production 1 and 2, sensory sensitivity and understanding of the specifics of the textile mateiálu, as well as the orientation of the history and current textile design and contemporary art.

Assessment methods and criteria
Analysis of Creative works (Music, Pictorial,Literary), Seminar Work

Practical textile works upon a concrete setting completed with textual and image attachments (also on CD). Participation in seminars 80%.
