Course content |
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the relatively new educational discipline of museum education, and explicate it through the prism of museology and pedagogy. Students will be introduced to the cognitive domain which museum education is. The aim is to integrate museum education in the system of educational sciences, deal with the history of museum education along with its specifics (content and objectives, forms, methods and teaching resources). Furthermore, to present new findings in this field, obtained by surveys, with a particular focus on the issue of cooperation between museums and schools, the issue of the professional profile of museum educators and their position within museum institutions as well as so-called visitors studies.
