Course content
|
The course Drawing and Printmaking 2 builds on the basic artistic experience and skills acquired in Drawing and Printmaking 1 and further develops them with a focus on their application in preschool education. Students are introduced to selected traditional and experimental drawing and printmaking techniques, their expressive potential, technological specifics, and ways of transforming them didactically for work with preschool children. Emphasis is placed on practical experience with materials, experimentation, playfulness, the creative process, and the exploration of artistic possibilities using simple and commonly available tools and materials. In addition to traditional drawing techniques, the course introduces printmaking processes that are safe and feasible in kindergarten settings, particularly monotype, relief printing, imprinting, frottage, texture printing, printing with natural and unconventional materials, simple stencil techniques, and mixed-media approaches. An integral part of the course is reflection on the appropriateness of individual techniques with regard to the child's age, motor and cognitive abilities, occupational safety, and the development of creativity. Students learn to design art activities in which drawing and printmaking are not based on mechanical imitation of models but instead support experimentation, sensory exploration, imagination, self-expression, and the child's individual visual expression.

Learning outcomes
|
The course aims to: - broaden students' practical experience with drawing and printmaking techniques; - introduce the basic principles of the graphic image, imprint, matrix, mark, line, texture, and contrast; - develop sensitivity to the expressive possibilities of art materials and tools; - foster creativity, experimentation, and the ability to seek alternative artistic solutions; - develop drawing and printmaking procedures applicable in kindergarten settings; - develop the ability to adapt an art technique to the age, abilities, and individual needs of a child; - promote safe and environmentally responsible use of materials; - develop the ability to prepare, implement, and reflect on an art activity for preschool children; - support an understanding of art-making as a process of exploration, communication, and learning.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Analysis of Creative works (Music, Pictorial,Literary)
1. Completion of assignments during seminars 2. Design and completion of the final semester project The topics for the semester project will be assigned during the seminars. A minimum of 80% attendance at seminars is required. Individual Study Plan (ISP): Regular consultations and a minimum of 50% attendance at seminars are required.
