Course content
Contents of the course:1. Terminology definition - children's rights, the right for participation2. The Convention on the Rights of the Child and its characteristics3. Participation in the context of educational aims and key competencies in education4. Political aspects of children's participation5. Pedagogical aspects of children's participation6. European politics for children and youth in relation to participation of children and youth7. Participation of children in the context of European collective education policy.8. Participation of children in the context of Czech education policy

Learning activities and teaching methods
Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
  • Attendace - 13 hours per semester
  • Semestral Work - 8 hours per semester
  • Homework for Teaching - 6 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Children ´s Participatory Rights in society and in education are an important area related to democratization of Czech school system and its European dimension. They represent a possibility of the child´s development, democratization of society and support its multiculturalism.

Assessment methods and criteria
Analyssis of the Student's Portfolio

Active participation in the seminar. Seminar work in the range of 5400 - 9000 characters in a given topic.
