Course content
Main world religious systems and their origin. Society and religion. Manifestations of religious and sectarian intolerance. Religiosity and Czech society - comparison with neighboring countries. Religious topics in elementary and secondary school curriculum.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training)
  • Attendace - 12 hours per semester

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students - future teachers of civics and social science basics - with individual religious systems and their genesis. The space will be devoted to issues related to manifestations of religious intolerance and to issues related to sects and sectarianism. Students will also be acquainted with the possibilities of applying the topic to the curriculum of primary and secondary school.
At the end of the course students should be able to: - to characterize and describe the major world religious systems, their form, genesis, system and role in the present    companies - define and analyze manifestations of religious intolerance and their causes, - describe the manifestations of sectarian thought and sectarianism, including their impact on society, - to apply selected topics on religious topics to the curriculum of elementary and secondary school.
Prerequisites
Basic orientation in history in the range of secondary school curriculum.
