Course content
Christian personalism. Psychoanalysis and neo-Marxism, Frankfurt School critical theory. Phenomenology. Existentialism. Logical atomism. Logical analysis and description language. Logical positivism. Neopragmatismus. Critique of logical positivism. Critical rationalism. Hermeneutics. Postmodernism, philosophical anthropology.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to attract attention of the students to understand the causes of different trends of 20th century philosophy - scientistic, anthropological - and to discuss on them: 1. Christian personalism 2. Phenomenology 3. Existentialism 4. Logical atomism 5. Logical analysis and description of language 6. Logical positivism 7. Critique of logical positivism 8. Critical rationalism 9. Hermeneutics 10. Post-modern philosophy, Philosophical anthropology Each student is expected to deliver a paper on some of the listed authors.
Good orientation in special philosophical texts written in the English language.
Prerequisites
Completion of the course Philosophy 1 (Ancient Times, Middle Ages and Renaissance) and Philosophy 2 (Modern Age, the present time)

Assessment methods and criteria
Seminar Work

During contact teaching and in the course of self-study student working on assignments that are a precondition for the completion of that event. Required tasks presents: essay on a selected student, but based on the study of literature and synopsis of the selected object philosophical text. Monograph selection for the seminar paper and text annotation (including formalizing and deadline for submission of results) will be discussed in the contact teaching. Students are also obliged the final form of completed tasks presented during contact teaching.
