Course content
1. Constitution of political science as autonomous socio-scientific discipline. 2. Political science concepts in the U.S.A., Europe and departments of political science in the CR.3. The subject, theory and methods of political science.4. Categories, related to politics.5. Political science methodology.6. Political philosophy and political ideologies.7. Political regimes - forms of government and political participants.8. Party systems, elections and electoral systems.9. The theory of democracy.10. Political theories overview I (Theory of communication, rational elections, games, coalitions).11. Political theories overview II (Pluralism, polyarchy theory, corporatism). 12. Political theories overview III (Consociation democracy theory).13. Totalitarianism and other undemocratic regimes.14. Theory of transitions, modernization, dependence.

Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming)

Learning outcomes
The subject presents an outline of theoretical conceptions of politics and orientation in basic terms and approaches of contemporary empirical political science.
Knowledge of political theory.
Prerequisites
Orientation in policy issues.

Seminar Work
