Learning outcomes
|
1. The division of the humanities and social sciences - the humanities and social sciences are generally regarded as concerning man and society. Unlike the natural science, they are not considered to be exact. 2. The aims of education in the humanities and social sciences in the conceptions of the beginning of 21st century. 3. Social sciences, educational practise and changing needs of the society. 4. The care of the soul - personal identity and understanding the human relations 5. The care of the community - "polis" and the citizen, democrat, republican. 6. The care of the language and communication - the communication in the differentiated world. 7. The relation to the world as a whole - philosophy, ethics, aesthetics. 8. The educational reflection of the needs of the society - social sciences in the context curricular documents of the national level. 9. Current problems of the contemporary world as an integral part of basic education. 10. The place and importance of cross-curricular subjects in basic education and their contribution to the development of the personality of the pupil. 11. Social sciences in cross-curricular subjects of the Framework Educational Programme - political science and law. 12. Social sciences in cross-curricular subjects - psychology and sociology. 13. Social sciences in cross-curricular subjects - economics and demography.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Written exam
Written part of exam - 70 points:- Seminar thesis (on a topic stated in the syllabus or as per own selection, including the option of a critical review of a selected publication or its part, possibly in form of a translation of technical/source text in a minimum extent of 10 standard pages (40 points)- A test at the end of semester (from selected parts of curriculum) (30 points)Exam test - maximum 30 points, time limit 50 minutesMinimum points achieved = 15Test evaluation: 0 - 14 points = unsatisfactory 15 and over = satisfactoryVerbal part of exam - 30 points:- evaluation of the examination test and seminar thesis, discussion, possibly additional verbal examination.Classification structure - note:Excellent - if exam result is measured in points, this grade belongs to evaluation of at least 90% of maximum points.Very good - if exam result is measured in points, this grade belongs to evaluation of at least 75%, but less than 90% of maximum points.Good - if exam result is measured in points, this grade belongs to evaluation of at least 60%, but less than 75% of maximum points.Unsatisfactory - if exam result is measured in points, this grade belongs to those, who do not even achieve 60% of maximum points.The condition for a chance to complete a verbal part of the exam is for a student to achieve at least 55% of maximum points obtainable in the written part.
