Course content
20th century philosophy, contained in texts of its most significant representatives of Christian Personalism, Psychoanalysis and Neo-Marxism, Frankfurt School, Phenomenology, Existentialicm, Logical Atomism, Logical Analysis and Description of Language, Logical Positivism, Neo-Pragmatism, Critique of Logical Positivism, Critical Rationalism, Hermeneutics, Postmodernism, Philosophical Anthropology.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to attract attention of the students to understand the causes of different trends of 20th century philosophy - scientistic, anthropological - and to discuss on them: 1. Christian personalism 2. Phenomenology 3. Existentialism 4. Logical atomism 5. Logical analysis and description of language 6. Logical positivism 7. Critique of logical positivism 8. Critical rationalism 9. Hermeneutics 10. Post-modern philosophy, Philosophical anthropology Each student is expected to deliver a paper on some of the listed authors.
Good orientation in special philosophical texts written in the English language.
Prerequisites
Completion of the course Philosophy 1 (Ancient Times, Middle Ages and Renaissance) and Philosophy 2 (Modern Age, the present time)

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Essay

Proven knowledge of philosophical reading: 1. Fulfilment of an assigned written task (a report, an essay). 2. active participation in discussions and at seminars.
