Course content
Critical and sceptical epistemology of the philosopher David Hume (as represented in his work A Treatise of Human Nature) - in relation to basic philosophical issues

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to deepen analytical thinking of the students through introduction to David Hume's philosophy as represented in his work A Treatise of Human Nature. Unaided work with an original English text, active presentation and speaking, exact formulation of ideas, ability to discuss and a written work on assigned topics will be required. For reading and analysing the chosen texts, very good knowledge of English (including philosophical terminology) is necessary.
Knowledge of fundamental problems of British empiricism.

proficiency in English knowledge proven through active participation in seminar discussions, fulfilment of an assigned written task (a report, an essay) in English based on philosophical reading
