Course content |
Topics: Applied ethics and its position in the field of ethics. Applied ethics in relation to the following areas or institutions: school, family, economics, medical sciences, civil society, environment. Creation of ethical codes and their importance. University ethical principles. Ethical values. Sexual health. Family life. The spiritual dimension of man. Economic values. Protection of nature and the environment. The search for truth and goodness as part of human nature

Learning outcomes |
The course will focus on the areas of applied ethics that relate to current educational reality, society and democracy. Students will be acquainted with the individual parts of social life and their connection with ethical theory, acquire important values for specific areas and will be able to specify examples of ethical behavior in a given context.
At the end of the course students should be able to: "define the basic terms of applied ethics, "to clarify the functioning of contemporary society and its moral and ethical values in various sectors, "assess the impact of ethical behavior on a particular community, "analyze the ethical specifics of the profession of citizenship education teacher and the foundations of the social sciences and can prevent inappropriate behavior in pedagogical practice, "acquire knowledge of the content of the complementary educational field of Ethics (according to FEP BE), "will master the didactic transformation of topics in the educational field of Ethics. |
Prerequisites |
Orientation in basic literature and terminology, overview of current events and ethical problems in the Czech Republic and abroad.
