Learning outcomes
|
This facultative course is based upon knowledge of the Roman Private Law and deepen this knowledge in the direction of Roman public law. This course is concerned with the criminal delicts and with the main principles of roman criminal law, which were different from the principles of criminal law in the present.
Students who have completed this course will gain skills and knowledge, which are essential to the correct understanding of the connections between private and public law. The students will be also able to deeply understand to development of criminal law in general and will gain knowledge about several (carefully selected) crimes of the ancient roman law in particular.

Prerequisites
|
This course is closely connected with the the course Roman Law 1 and 2 and uses skills and knowledge which have been gained by students in these courses.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Seminar Work
For the succesfull completion of the course (to get credit) it is essentional 1) to have an active attendance in the seminars and 2) to succesfully solve a legal case from Gigest, in a written form and 3) to answer correctly questions at colloquium (75% is required).
