1.-2. Methodology of working with sources of common law and their use for contemporary jurisprudence, traditions and legacy of Roman private law in the European context 3.-4. Natural law school, 18th century codification and natural law influences in ABGB 5.-6. Changes in private law in the last two centuries

The course focused on the legal history of private law is the subject of the specialization Private Law. It is a course belonging to the first pillar of the programme, i.e. a course developing the student's theoretical knowledge. The course supplements the student's theoretical knowledge acquired in the Master's degree programme, in particular by detailed information concerning the historical development of private law in the territory of the present-day Czech Republic. The course is designed as a two-semester course. In the summer semester, the methodology of working with common law and statutory sources from the Enlightenment to the mid-20th century as important sources of inspiration for modern private law will be presented on selected issues. Students will then be able to work independently and with quality on these sources.
Students who have completed this course will gain the knowledge necessary to understand the features of law. |

Assessment methods and criteria |
Oral exam
The student's active participation in classes is required, and the colloquium is awarded after an oral debate on the processed part of the historical research - a written document. Full-time students must attend 80% of the lectures, combined students half of the lectures and one two-hour consultation. |
