Course content
The subject's contents: Description and function of PC. Basic principles of PC operation. Boolean algebra, terms bit and byte and their interpretations. Principles and rules of PC structure. PC components. Description and samples of the individual PC components, class P IV. Working in BIOS. Demonstration of building PC class P IV out of components. PC components. Description and samples of the individual PC components, class P III. Principles and rules of PC structure. Working in BIOS. Demonstration of building PC class P III out of components. PC components. Description and samples of the individual PC components, class P II. Principles and rules of PC structure. Working in BIOS. Demonstration of building PC class P II out of components. PC components. Description and samples of the individual PC components, class P. Principles and rules of PC structure. Working in BIOS. Demonstration of building PC class P out of components. Installation and configuration of the Windows 98 operating system. Change of the system configuration (adding and installation of new hardware). Installation and configuration of the Windows Me operating system. Changes to system configuration (adding and installation of new hardware). Installation and configuration of the Windows 2000 operating system. Changes to system configuration (adding and installation of new hardware). Installation and configuration of the Windows XP operating system. Changes to system configuration (adding and installation of new hardware). Individual work of students - building, configuration and installation of computers of the following classes: P, P II., P III. and P IV.

Learning outcomes
The course deals with the structure and configuration of personal computers, both hardware as well as software. Students will acquire knowledge and skills that will enable them to assemble the individual components of the PC, change or add any of the components of the computer, configure the optimal hardware environment. They will gain knowledge about how to install and configure the driver for each device, installation and configuration of operating systems and user applications. They are able to configure your computer to a network.
To acquire basic skills and knowledge to report a configuration PC. Students will be able to assemble a PC from individual components and adapt their configuration in the BIOS. Students will be able to install and configure the OS on the assembled PC.
Prerequisites
Disciplines are available to students via the LMS Unifor (http://unifor.upol.cz/pedagogicka/unifor/logon.php and contain not only text, but also interactive and multimedia content (animation, etc.). Disciplines include tests for self-evaluation and self-but also controlled verification of acquired knowledge and skills. course is completed examinations carried electronic testing within the LMS Unifor.
