Aesthetical perception of world in literature. Aesthetical interpretation of literature. The topic of a literary work. The content and the form. The language. The plot, the story and the composition. The narrator. Forms of depicting a protagonist in literary work. Literary modes. Literary genres. Versology.

Learning outcomes
|
This course provides the basic concepts and terms of literary theory (Ukrainian terminology in comparison with Czech), the basics of literary work analysis and applies gained knowledge on particular literary genres in the seminar. Lectures focus on the following topics: Aesthetic perception of world in literature; Aesthetic sign situation and possibilities of sign interpretation; The theme of a literary work; Content and form; Language; Sujet; Fabula; Composition; Narrator; Forms of man portrayal in literary works; Literary forms and genres; Versology. Students gain basic knowledge in literary movements.
Getting familiar with literary terms, schools, approaches and the development of literary theory as a science and its separate disciplines. Students will acquire the knowledge necessary for further literary studies.

Prerequisites
|
Designed for the 1st year students of Ukrainian and Russian philology. Students should have a basic knowledge of Czech literary terminology as expected after graduating from high school.
