Learning outcomes
The course continues to introduce students to Ukrainian literature from the 17th to the early 19th century and helps them gain an understanding of the development of various genres of polemical literature and satirical works. Special attention is given to the development of Ukrainian drama and Cossack chronicles. A separate chapter is devoted to the philosophy and artistic work of H.S. Skovoroda. Furthermore, the lectures address the emergence of Romanticism in Ukrainian literature and the specific characteristics of the Ukrainian fable.
Students will learn about the characteristics of the various emerging styles in Ukrainian literature, the basics of dramaturgy, the significance of the Brotherhood schools and philosophical works, and the features of Ukrainian Romanticism
Prerequisites
Knowledge of the Old Ukrainian literature, good knowledge of literary terminology and genres, understanding the European literary context and having completed the previous course on Ukrainian literature, KSU/UL1.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Preparedness for each lesson, reading the assigned texts, understanding the European context of Ukrainian literature. Passing the credit test.
