Conjunction and its functions. Types of conjunction. 11 Preposition. Primary and secondary prepositions. Specific features of prepositional constructions. 12. Particles and interjections. Semantic classification and functions. 13. Transposition of parts of speech. Credit test.

Learning outcomes
|
The second part of the course on Morphology is focused on morphological system of present-day Ukrainian, as it will help the students to acquire the theoretical knowledge of all parts of speech and also the practical knowledge of paradigms of autosematnic words and the usage of synsemantic words. Special attention is paid to verbs and its finite and infinite forms, semantics and formation of adverbs, predicative adverbs, synsemantic parts of speech and interjections. Students will also be presented with an outline of flexible parts of speech and paradigms of conjugation of finite verbs. We shall also deal with complete morphological analysis of words of all parts of speech.
Awareness of system of parts of speech, grammatical categories, paradigms and each particular part of speech. Basic knowledge of general morphology.

Prerequisites
|
A practical knowledge of Ukrainian, at least B1 level of the European Framework of Reference for Languages. Knowledge of practical Ukrainian grammar from the language exercises 1, 2 and from Morphology 1.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Written exam
Regular attendance, max. 2 absences. Doing the assigned tasks and being prepared for each lesson, individual work with grammar books and other sources. Written test on declension and conjugation and morphological analysis of all parts of speech.
