Course content
1. Nominal grammar categories. Gender, number, case. 2. Grammatical gender of nominal parts of speech. 3. Number of nominal parts of speech. Substantivum singularium and pluralia tantum. 4. Case of nominal parts of speech. Types and paradigms of nominal parts of speech. 5. Word formation of nominative parts of speech. 6. Word formation of nouns. Abstract and concrete nouns. 7. Word formation of adjectives and pronouns. Writing the nominative parts of speech. 8. Numerals and their declension. Constructions with numerals. 9. Revision, exercises. Verbs. The infinitive. 10. Finite and infinite forms of verbs. Constructions and collocations. 11. Infinite forms of verbs, particles and transgressives in Ukrainian. 12. Phrases with infinitive. 13. Credit test.

Learning outcomes
This course is dedicated to exercising the practical knowledge of nominal part of speechs and verbs in Ukrainian, grammar categories and functions of sentence constituents. We shall compare Czech language to Ukrainian when analysing the nominal category of gender, number, case, word-formative process, finite and infinite verbs, transitivity, particles, transgressives etc. Special attention is paid to a complex morphological analysis of the already discussed parts of speech and the practical recognition of parts of speech in text.
An ability to create and use nominative parts of speech in spoken and written text respecting the stylistic norms.
Prerequisites
Completing the courses JCG1- JCG4.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

- Regular attendance, max. 2 absences, - Doing the assigned tasks, - Researching answers to unclear issues, - Finding linguistic news, - Active participation in discussion, - Consulting dictionaries and other sources, - A test on morphological features and forms of nominative parts of speech, - Knowledge of interpunction rules.
