The aim of the discipline is to introduce students to the linguocultural aspects of linguistic studies. The lecture and seminars are devoted to contemporary Russian from the perspective of linguoculturology (in a confrontational Russian-Czech and Czech-Russian plan). Subtopics include: the origin and development of linguoculturology in the world, contemporary Russian linguoculturology, the Russian image of the world and its development, the share of the nationally specific and the international in Russian lexis and phraseology, Russian in intercultural communication, the specifics of contemporary Russian discourse (with emphasis on contemporary Russian speech and slang).
