Psycholinguistics and sociolinguistics The lecture and seminar deal with the broad modern interdisciplinary fields of linguistics, which can facilitate the knowledge received after studying traditional linguistics. It is the concept of communicative linguistics, which investigates the functioning of language in an individual speech situation (including the psychological and social aspects of speech). Cognitive linguistics The discipline is supposed to introduce the broad context of the change of linguistics paradigm related to the origins of antropocentrism and emphasis on interpretation in language study. The discipline presents fundamental schools in cognitive linguistics and key terms and methods of the new approach. The discipline is designed as a lecture followed by the students´ discussion of the topics and presentation of papers. Theory of text The lecture and seminars deal with the content, methods and definition of so-called lext linguistics and its key terms. Critical assessment of representatives of Czech and Russian text lingusitics (Daneš, Palek, Sgall, Padučevová, Gaľperin etc.) is presented. The object of interest is the concept of text, its structure and delimitation, interpretation of "discourse" and analysis of constitutive properties of text (e.g. cohesion, coherence, anaphora, reference etc.).
Knowledge and skills received after studying the applied linguistic disciplines, or interdisciplinary fields of linguistics. Language material in comparative Russian-Czech and Czech-Russian point of view is involved.
