Course content
Topics: zero equivalence, use of explanatory notes, literal and free translation, shifts in translation, explicitness, implicitness, exoticization, generalization, translation of names, proper names, nicknames, etc., colloquial language, slang, dialects, expressiveness, vulgarisms, puns, authorial style, etc.

Learning outcomes
Seminář je určen studentům bakalářského studia a je zaměřen prakticky na procvičení překladatelských postupů při převodu prozaických textů z ruského do českého jazyka.
Skills to analyse a literary text, understand its style and translate it adequately from source to target language.
Prerequisites
Standard knowledge of Russian and Czech language.
