Course content
1. Economics (revising the Interpreting seminar 1 ? statistic, dynamics in economy) 2-3. Description of a company ? producer, bank, insurance company, services (e.g. travel agency, logistics) Students? PRESENTATIONS - joint venture, financing, description, cooperation. 4. Business visits and dealings. 5-6. Business dealings ? students? PRESENTATIONS. 7. Tourism ? the supply of travel agencies, the situation on the market in Czech Republic and Russia ? students? PRESENTATIONS. 8-9. Resorts, organising a stay abroad (accommodation, food, programme, payment, transport etc.) 10-11. Tourism in Czech Republic and Russia ? students? PRESENTATIONS.

Learning outcomes
This practical discipline is supposed to broaden the interpreting skills (consecutive, simultaneous and interpreting a written text) regarding new topics: economy and tourism. We shall focus on the fixed expression in both Russian and Czech, a work with real texts (including dialogues) and topics and on the individual preparation needed for each interpreting performance (lexical and factual preparation for the topic and text, text models, presentation).
Enhancing the interpreting competence, broadening the knowledge of interpreting methods and gaining the ability to interpret consecutively as well as simultaneously in both directions. Learning new vocabulary regarding the topics.
Prerequisites
A knowledge of Russian, at least B1-B2 level of the European Framework of Reference for Languages, a good knowlegde of Czech min. on C1 level of the Common European Frame of Reference for Languages, a theoretical as well as practical knowledge of basic translatological methods (as acquired after completing the Interpreting Seminar 1).
