Learning outcomes
The course is a follow-up course to the Introduction to Theory of Translation. Its aim is to provide the students with a complex outline of modern translatology. We shall deal with the theory of literary translation, translation of non-fiction and the issue of equivalence and adequateness of translation. Students will get more familiar with basic methods of translation both from the theoretical and practical point of view. We accentuate the practical application of the theoretical knowledge in the process of translation and interpretation. Special attention is paid to the so called internationalisation of non-fiction texts in terms of their terminology.
Students will acquire a complex knowledge of modern translatology especially in the field of literary translation, methods of translation and interpretation and translation of non-fiction.
