Learning outcomes
The seminar of contemporary Russian drama will present the students with selected plays of the most prominent representatives fo the new wave of Russian drama, the end of the 1990?s and after the year 2000. The aim is to provide the students with a deeper insight into the rapid development of drama in Russia, its fundamental streams and figures. The texts are selected in a way that they represent the enormously wide range of the production.
Students will get familiar with the tendencies of development in Russian drama since the end of the 20th century and with the prominent figures of contemporary dramatic production.
Prerequisites
A practical knowledge of Russian, at least B2 level of the European Framework of Reference for Languages, knowledge of Russian history, culture, literature and realia as expected after completing the compulsory courses in Bc. study programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Essay

Attendance, max. 2 absences. Presentation. Reading the assigned plays, active participation in discussion.
