Learning outcomes
|
Students will improve and apply their translation skills to translate texts concerning the topic of sevices. In translation, the focus is made both on the content and the stylistic form of the equivalents. So, the differences between Czech and Russian are commented on. Students also train their professional approach to the translator's practice (finding the materials, comparing dictionaries, consulting an expert, creating a glossary), discuss the choice of an appropriate equivalent. The aim is not only to master the topic from the point of view of language, but also to get a further insight into the professional translation skills.
Students will acquire the skill to apply the general methods of treating Russian and Czech languages in translating texts (topic: new professions/ services). They will be able to create a glossary on a selected topic.

Prerequisites
|
Practical knowledge of Russian, corresponding to at least B2 level of the European Framework of Reference for Languages and basic knowledge of practice and theory of translation techniques.
