Learning outcomes
This course is focused on the prominent figures of the Russian literature of the 20th century and the reception of their work in Czech culture. The seminars are dedicated to analysis of representative texts (from the list given to students during the seminar) of that period.
The student will gain an overview of the development and history of Russian literature of the 20th century and will learn the methods of analyzing literary works. It is assumed that the student has an initial knowledge of hermeneutical thinking, the ability to analyze the text, theoretical orientation in the problem of the author, narrator, text (literary theory, versology), character structure, and the recipient.
Prerequisites
A practical knowledge of Russian, at least B1 level of the European Framework of Reference for Languages. Knowledge of the basic terminology of literary theory from the course Introduction to Literary Theory and the knowledge of theoretical basis as presented at the course Russian Literature of the 19th Century 1 and 2 and Russian literature of the 20th century. The seminar will be open with at least 5 registered students. In case of less than 5 students enrolled, it will depend on the agreement with the students, on the specific situation and knowledge requirements.
