Course content
Within the course the students will work on development of the following communicative skills: 1. Presentation skills: presentation of a chosen subject, problem 2. Discussion skills: expressing agreement, disagreement, partial agreement, defending one's opinion, expressing doubt, confidence 3. Interaction in conversations, discussions, typical questions and answers. Topics: 1. Culture 2. Philosophy and science 3. Literature 4. Visual Arts 5. Architecture 6. Music 7. Theatre 8. Cinematography

Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Demonstration, Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)

Learning outcomes
The course aims to extend, deepen and develop communicative skills, vocabulary and ability to use different communicative registers and styles in Russian language.
The student manages communication and conversation related to the topic areas of the course in the target language. Students will actively deepen the following set of skills: - speaking, making presentations, participation in discussion - reading comprehension and subsequent use of the obtained information in conversation - listening comprehension and subsequent use of the obtained information in conversation
Prerequisites
The course is designed for the second year undergraduate students. The course is taught in Russian.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Essay, Student performance, Analysis of linguistic

seminar attendance, max. absence rate 2 weeks task completion, preparation, active participation in discussions presentation of a chosen topic Credit test in the form of an essay and discussion on a selected topic
