Course content
1. Communicative types of sentence. 2. Emotional sentences. 3. Negation. 4. Expressing necessity, probability and intention. 5. Subject as the main sentence constituent. 6. Predicate as the main sentence constituent. 7. Secondary sentence constituents: object. 8. Adverbial. 9. Attribute. 10. Complement. 11. Morphological and syntactic analysis. 12. Morphological and syntactic. 13. Credit.

Learning outcomes
This course is dedicated to practical exercises of syntax. In particular we shall deal with expressing the negation in Russian, modality ? expressing necessity, possibility; communicative types of sentences (declarative sentence, interrogative sentence, optative sentence), emotional sentences, sentences with subject and predicate and other sentence constituents (object, attribute, adverbial, complement). We shall also revise the orthography and interpunction as well as writing capital letters and abbreviations. We shall consistently compare the phenomena with Czech grammar.
Students will be able to recognize and identify the sentence constituents, they are aware of the different system of constituents in Russian and Czech (especially for translation) and also of the difference in expressing negation, necessity and probability.
Prerequisites
Completing the Language Grammar Exercises 4. Knowledge of morphology of parts of speech and paradigms.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

- Midterm test, worst acceptable grade - 3 - Passing the credit test on the discussed material (translation from Czech to Russian) - attendance, max. 2 absences
