Learning outcomes
This course develops the topic of the previous semester. Special attention is paid to the verbs of motion, transgressives and participles. We shall then move on to discuss other parts of speech ? adverb (their classification according to the formal structure, classification according to the semantics and the conversion processes, gradation), predicatives (the problematic of predicatives as a part of speech, the terminology ? category of state, predicatives and adverbs), conjunctions (classification, subordinate and cooridate conjunctions), prepositions (classification, synonymy in prepositions, prepositional expressions), particles (classification, translation to Czech, phraseological particles), interjections (semantic classification, their function in syntactic structure). We shall again apply the functional systematic approach and compare the Russian and Czech systems in order to avoid negative interference.
Students will be able to identify the indefinite verb forms, prepositions and conjunctions in text and to translate them in both directions.
Prerequisites
