Learning outcomes
This course is dedicated to the students of the first year. The aim of the course is to broaden and systematize the student?s knowledge about Russian grammar which they acquired during their previous studies of Russian. In the introductory part we shall explain the theoretical concepts of linguistics and its disciplines: morphemic analysis, morph, and morpheme. We shall then talk about the basic part of speech ? the noun ? and its morphological categories. Mostly we shall focus on the category of gender, number and animate vs. inanimate nouns as well as the declension. During the exercises we shall consistently confront the Russian grammar with Czech grammar in order to avoid interference.
Students will be able to decline nouns and to understand the nominal grammatical categories.
