Course content
State doctoral exam date + thesis defence: June and December every year. KSO/95SDZ Fulfilment of all requirements. Supervisor´s recommendation, State Doctoral Committee approval, results: passed / not passed. Example questons: I. 3. Influence of Greek language on Old Church Slavonic language. 4. Influence of Latin and Old High German on Old Church Slavonic. 5. Morphology and syntax of Old Church Slavonic in comparison with other Slavic languages (choice according to postgraduate student). II. 4. The latest theories in the contemporary Polish linguistics in comparison with the Czech, Russian or Ukrainian linguistics. Choice according to specialization. 6. The eminent personalities of Polish linguistics in the 20th and 21st century and evaluation of their contribution to the development of Slavic / European linguistics. Choice according to specialization. 7. Cognitive theories in the Polish linguistics in comparison with the Czech, Russian, Ukrainian linguistics and their contribution. III. 14. The language of the contemporary Russian journalistic style in comparison with the Slavic languages (journalistic style in the Czech, Polish or Ukrainian language). Choice according to specialization. 15. Issues of contemporary Russian language from the point of view of its stylistic functions in comparison with the Slavic languages (Czech, Polish or Ukrainian). Choice according to specialization. IV. 9. Genre development in the Ukrainian literature of the 20th and 21st century in comparison with the literary work of the Czechs, Russians and Polish. Choice according to specialization. 10. Literary text as translation issue (the Polish, Czech, Russian and Ukrainian translation theories). Choice according to specialization.

Learning outcomes
During four years of doctoral study programme, the postgraduate student works on his/her thesis. S/he is led and evaluated by his/her supervisor. S/he presents his/her partial outcomes at domestic and international conferences and s/he submits articles for publishing in scientific journals. After the 2nd and the 3rd year, s/he passes partial state doctoral exam. After that, s/he is eligible to take the final state doctoral exam.
After having successfully passed the state doctoal exam, the postgraduate student will receive an approval. After successful defence of his/her thesis, his/her study is completed.
Prerequisites
To be familiar with the issues concerning postgraduate students´ study programme. I. Old Church Slavonic language and its place in the Slavic languages classification. Old Church Slavonic writings until the end of the 11th century and its basic linguistic features. Personalities of Czech and worldwide Paleoslavonic studies, the most eminent publications and journals. II. Selected issues of Slavonic philology history with respect to Polish philology in comparison with the Czech, Russian and or Ukrainian ones. Choice according to specialization. III. Selected issues of Slavic philology history with respect to the Russian philology in comparison with the Czech, Polish and or Ukrainian ones. Choice according to specialization. IV. Selected issues of Slavonic philology history with respect to Ukrainian philology in comparison with the Czech, Russian or Polish ones. Choice according to specialization.

Oral exam, Analysis of Creative works (Music, Pictorial,Literary), Analyssis of the Student's Portfolio
