Course content
KSO/91AUJ Ukrainian linguistics 5 credits. prof. A. Arkhanhelska Key concepts of lexis dynamics. Basic dynamic processes and development of contemporary Ukrainian language, reasons and consequences. Neologism, new female nomination, neo-feminization. Language system, stnadard language, new female nomination. Stimulating and restrictive factors of neo-feminization. Processes of neo-feminization in Ukrainian and other Slavonic languages (Polish, Russian, Czech).

Learning outcomes
This course wil cover the theoretical key issues of language dynamics in the contemporary Ukrainian and other Slavonic languages. The main focus is put on the linguistic identification of woman in Ukrainian, the concepts of neo-feminization and neologism, the reasons and consequences of new female forms in the contemporary Ukrainian language.
Students will get familiar with the theoretical issues of language dynamics in Ukrainian and other Slavonic languages.

Attending lectures, fulfilment of all the tasks.

4. The latest theories in the contemporary Ukrainian linguistics in comparison with the Czech, Russian or Polish literary science. Choice according to specialization. 6. The eminent personalities of Ukrainian linguistics in the 20th and 21st century and evaluation of their contribution to the development of Slavic / European linguistics. Choice according to specialization. 7. Cognitive theories in the Ukrainian linguistics in comparison with the Czech, Russian, Polish and their contribution. 12. Neologisms in the contemporary Ukrainian language in comparison with the state of affairs in the Czech, Russian or Polish language. Choice according to specialization. 13. Varieties of contemporary Ukrainian language in non-fiction texts in comparison with the Czech, Russian or Polish language. Choice according to specialization. 14. The language of contemporary Ukrainian journalistic style in comparison with the Slavic languages (journalistic style in the Czech, Russian or Polish language). Choice according to specialization.
