Czech literary theory 1. Position of Czech literary science among sciecnes and arts. Literary disciplines and methodology. 2. Organization of literary reseraches in the Czech republic. Departments of Czech langauges abroad. 3. Results of syntectic study of czech loiterary development. Czech literary lexicography. 4. Czech literary theory - narratology and theory of fictional worlds. 5. Czech literary theory - versology and genology, areal conception of literary science. 6. Czech literary theory - textology and translatology. 7. Czech literary medievalistics. 8. Czech literary science of barque. 9. Importqnt monographs in the field of Czech literature of nationa lrenaissance and the second half of the 19th century. 10. Results of Czech literary science in the 20th century. 11. The latest Czech literature. 12. Development och Czech literary criticism up to the end of the 20th century. 13. Learning outcomes
|
Czech literary theory The aim of this course is to provide an overview of development of contemporary literary theory and its disciplines, organization of literary research, prominent specialists in literature, synthetical works and monographs, the Czech contribution to the Slavonic literary theory.
The postagraduate students will be acquainted with the development of Czech literary theory from its beginnings to the present.

Prerequisites

The course is a follow-up of all literary courses incorporated in the pre-gradute study programmes. Sufficient knowledge of literary theory with respect to Slavonic literatures, movements, schools, representatives.

Active attendnace in seminars, PowerPoint presentation on selected literary issues or representatives. Exam questions in the field of the Comparative Slavonic philology: courses Comparative Slavonic literary theory and Comparative Slavonic linguistics. 1. On aspects of language and style of contemporary Polish prose in comparison with the Czech, Russian or Ukrainian prose. The latest theories (terminology) and the research methods ? evaluation.
