Course content
This course will present the theory related to computer translation in general (basic terminology, principal problems of machine translation, confrontation of machine translation and human translation, fields of use and ways of application of MT a CAT) and selected CAT software. A practical training of work with the CAT tools will follow.

Learning outcomes
The course Computer-aided translation is focused on familiarization of the students with the contemporary ways of utilization of IT in translation. It will deal mainly with the theoretical principles of computer translation, its principles, methods, terminology. Selected tools for CAT will be presented.
Acquisition of skills and competences in advanced user work with IT and programs supporting and facilitating the translation process.
Prerequisites
Ability to work with specialized texts in Polish and in Czech. Very good knowledge of Polish and Czech.
