Learning outcomes
|
This follow-up and complementary course is destined for students with a very good language level. At the beginning, the lessons are dedicated to audiovisual translation and its specificities. The technical aspects of this type of translation are taken into account. The objective of this practical course is the analysis of translation strategies and the student's own attempts to translate texts from the field of audiovisual translation: creation of subtitles, translation for dubbing, creation and translation of advertisement texts. The course prepares the students for the translation work.
In relation to the basic specialised language skills and competences already learned, the student will acquire further specialised skills and competences from the field of translation strategies and their analysis. Consolidation of knowledge: a. analysis of translation strategies, b. student's own translations of audiovisual and advertisement texts.

Prerequisites
|
Ability to work with specialized texts in Polish and in Czech. Very good knowledge of Polish and Czech.

|
Student performance
- Participation in lectures with a maximum absence of 2 lessons per semestre - Translation of 5 or more texts with a commentary on the translation
