1. Morphology. Morphology and inflection. Morphology and phonetics. 2. Morphem and morph. Variants of morphems. 3. Morphems classification. 4. Morphological analysis of utterance. 5. Parts of speech. How to divide words into parts of speech, three classifications. 6. Utterance, lexem, grammatem, textual form. 7. Grammatical category. Type of grammatical categories. 8. Grammatical categories of basic parts of speech. 9. Lexical and grammatical homonymy. Syncretism. Forms neutralization. 10. Verbs. 11. Nouns, adjectives, pronouns. 12. Irregular forms. 13. Inflectional analysis in Polish dictionaries.

Learning outcomes
|
During the lectures and seminars, the students will be acquainted with the theoretical and practical issues of Polish morphology. The basic morphological terms: type of morphems, grammatem, allomorphs, structural, functional and distributional classification of morphems, morphological analysis: parts of speech analysis from the morphological point of view, morphological categories: concept and comprehension of morphological categories, nominal and verbal group, selective categories, theory and practise of parts of speech: parts of speech features, how to divide words into parts of speech.
The students will acquire competences as stated in the syllabus.

Prerequisites
|
Having successfully completedthe course "Prkatická cvičení konverzační", reading of academic papers in Czech and practical study texts in Polish.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance
Regular and active attendance - 80%, two absences are permitted; fulfilment of all partial assessment tasks; presentation; individual study of Polish texts.
